Completing Trips

When your trip is over, Lanyard helps you wrap up and decide what to do with unfinished items.

Trip Status

Trips have three statuses:

Completing a Trip

When your trip ends:

1. Open your trip detail page
2. Click Complete trip (with confirmation dialog)
3. The trip status changes to "Completed"
4. You're taken to the Wrap-up flow

The Wrap-Up Flow

The wrap-up flow helps you decide what to do with cards that weren't marked as done.

What You'll See:

• All cards with status "Scheduled" (unfinished)
• Cards are shown with their title, type, and which day they were planned for
• For each card, choose: Return to wishlist or Leave as record

Your Options:

Return to Wishlist ✓

• Creates a new item in your party's Wishlist (if not already linked to one)
• Links the card to an existing wishlist item (if it was scheduled from your wishlist)
• Perfect for: "We didn't get to it, but still want to do it someday"

Leave as Record ✕

• Keeps the card on the trip as a historical record
• Doesn't add anything to your wishlist
• Perfect for: "We changed our minds" or "It wasn't that great, don't need to do it again"

Submitting Your Choices:

1. Review each card and tap ✓ or ✕
2. Click Save & finish
3. A success message confirms your choices
4. You're redirected to the trip detail page

Effects of Completing a Trip

Automatic Changes:

• Trip status: Changes to "Completed"
• Wishlist items: Any linked wishlist items on "done" cards get marked as completed
• Cards: Remain on the trip as a historical record
• Wishlist: Unfinished items can be returned via the wrap-up flow

What You Can Still Do:

• View the trip and all its cards
• Access the wrap-up flow (via Wrap up link)
• View public share links (if active)
• Export/print the trip

What You Cannot Do:

• Add new cards
• Edit existing cards
• Reschedule cards
• Change trip dates

Revisiting the Wrap-Up Flow

Changed your mind after completing? No problem:

1. Open your completed trip
2. Click Wrap up in the toolbar
3. Make different choices for unfinished cards
4. Submit to save

Tips

• Don't rush: You can complete a trip and still access the wrap-up flow later
• Review as a group: Gather your party and decide together what to return to the wishlist
• Be honest: If you didn't like something, "Leave as record" keeps it off your wishlist
• Future trips: Items returned to your wishlist are immediately available for scheduling on your next trip
